Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is an approach to education that emphasizes the importance of humans living in harmony with the earth. ESD is also sometimes referred to as Education for Sustainability (EfS). To me, they seem to be the same concepts. Dr John Siraj-Blatchford is a well-known name in Early Childhood research and a staunch advocate for improving the outcomes for young children. I have read a lot of his writing, but one article caught my eye when preparing the Early Years Summit - Wellbeing and Sustainable Development.
